Shoonya Digital is an award-winning education technology company based in Santa Barbara, California. Our flagship product, the Shoonya Kids app, is a gamified multilingual learning platform that helps children move seamlessly between their home language(s) and English. Built by a team of seasoned edtech veterans, engineers, educators, and designers, Shoonya Kids combines authentic cultural representation with engaging, foundational vocabulary learning.
Our teacher dashboard enables educators to customize lessons and track learning outcomes. Shoonya’s work has been recognized with competitive innovation grants — including the U.S. Department of Education’s Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Grant and the Antares REACH Grant — validating both our impact and our potential to scale.
We’re on a mission to make multilingual learning joyful and accessible for all children. As we grow rapidly, we’re looking for a driven, entrepreneurial Sales Development Representative (SDR) to join our team and help expand our presence in K–12 education.
What You’ll Do
As Shoonya’s first SDR, you’ll play a critical role in building our sales pipeline and shaping our go-to-market strategy in California. You will:
Prospect and research new opportunities within schools, districts, and partner organizations.
Conduct direct outreach (calls and emails) to qualify leads and book demos.
Maintain and manage our CRM (HubSpot) — track progress, log activities, & update lead status.
Attend educational conferences, support booth setup, & confidently present Shoonya Kids.
Collaborate closely with the Founder/CEO and Sales Lead to refine outreach strategies and messaging.
Stay organized across multiple leads, follow-ups, and events while hitting outreach and demo goals.
What Success Looks Like
30–50 high-quality outbound prospecting calls per day
At least five qualified demos are booked weekly.
Timely follow-up and CRM hygiene
Consistent contribution to pipeline growth and overall revenue momentum
What You Bring
1–3 years of experience in sales. (Edtech or Education experience is a big plus)
Strong communication skills and confidence speaking with educators and administrators
Familiarity with sales tools (e.g., HubSpot, Google Workspace, spreadsheets, etc.)
A proactive, self-starter mindset — comfortable wearing multiple hats
Spanish proficiency is a plus.
Must reside in California: being able to travel to school sites, conferences and events is required for this role. All travel will be paid for.

Grow into a Sales Representative Role: Transition to a full-cycle sales position with increased responsibility and earning potential.
